Learning how to cross-stitch is fun and relaxing when you’re part of a group, who shares your excitement as you see your project come to life. Your teacher will show you a range of skills to help you start and finish a cross stitch project – no matter how big or small it may be! – and help to guide you through your challenges and show you how to achieve the results you want. All students are encouraged to share their experiences with the rest of the group, if they’re comfortable.

Each class goes for 2 hours, with the average class size of 10 to 15 people. The beginner and intermediate classes are $35 per person, per session and the social group is $10 per person, per session and are all available via Zoom. These classes will run in alignment with the Australian Eastern standard time. Face-to-face sessions will be arranged for people who live in Canberra, Australia and the surrounding region who are interested.

All classes are predominantly for adults, however, any kids who are interested in learning how to cross stitch are welcome. They will need to have their parent, carer or guardian with them for the whole session to help with threading the needle and similar tasks.

One-on-one and special group sessions are available, separate to the scheduled classes. Click on the ‘Get in Touch’ button below to find out more about available days, times and cost.

If you have never cross stitched before, or it’s been a while, then come to the beginner class. Bring along a counted cross stitch kit of your choice and you will learn how to find the centre of your fabric, read and understand a cross stitch pattern, start and finish a series of crosses and change colours. If your pattern calls for it, you will also learn how to include French Knots and back-stitching.
